Eagle Attends Potlatch by Herb Rice

Eagle Attends Potlatch

This lovely eagle is 10" x 3.5" x 3.5” carved in pine wood. Although it is small enough to fit on a bookshelf, it is in 3 dimensions and carved in careful detail. Ideal for the small apartment in the big city -- it is a totem than can fit on a bookshelf or bedside table!

The eagle represents vision and freedom. Freedom is acknowledging your own freedom first. When you are strong in this then you can share your knowledge with your environment. Vision is knowing that each decision you make in life will effect at least seven generations of your people.

In this instance, the Eagle is pretending to be a human who is pretending to be an eagle. The Eagle is participating in the Potlatch, the official ceremony of the Coast Salish People.

Herb carves several different bookshelf totems. He has designs for a Raven, a Frog and a Bear all three of which are in bookshelf size.
