Raven Sun Totem by Herb Rice

Herb and his friend Daniel discuss the 10' red cedar pole in progress.	The finished pole has hammered copper on the sun face. It is in a private residence outside Montreal.	At the base of the Totem are 2 carved Salmon. They represents survival, continuity and fertility of body mind and spirit.
Herb carving the salmon's tails.	The Raven , on the top, represents the trickster or the teacher, and is based on whether or not we have learned from our past experiences. The sun represents the life giving force. In this Sculpting, The Raven is stealing the sun and bringing it back to where it belongs.
On the Tail of the Raven is the Moon, which represents transition.
